Tod Long is the Founder & Chief Financial Strategist of Long Financial Services, where for over 22 years he has helped families protect their wealth, generate reliable income, and step confidently into retirement. His approach to financial strategy is shaped not only by decades of experience in the industry, but also by his background as a world-class athlete.
From 1989 to 1993, Tod was a standout sprinter for the University of Oklahoma. A 7-time Big 8 Champion, 6-time NCAA All-American, and two-time team captain, he specialized in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events, as well as multiple relays. He set the OU school record in the 4x100m relay in 1992, a mark that stood for years to this day. After his collegiate career, Tod signed with NIKE and competed professionally from 1993 to 1999. Among his highlights were winning the 1996 U.S. Indoor National Championship in the 200m and a World Indoor Championship in the 4x400m relay the same year. He later returned to competition at the Masters level, capturing both National and World titles in the 100m in 2013.
Tod’s athletic career taught him that success is built long before race day—through preparation, resilience, and consistent execution. He carries these same principles into his work with clients, ensuring that their financial strategies are structured, disciplined, and designed for long-term performance. For Tod, the track and financial planning share a common truth: with the right preparation and a clear plan, you can cross the finish line with confidence.
Outside of work, Tod enjoys traveling the globe to tour distilleries and explore the stories behind the spirits he loves. Most importantly, he treasures time with his growing family, especially visiting his grandchildren, who keep him inspired and grounded.
